About This Item
Minneapolis: Coffee House Press/Hot Chocolate Books, 1986. First Edition. First trade edition (preceded by a limited edition in sewn wrappers). Green cloth in dust jacket; square 8vo. Illustrated children's book: poetry by Disch with illustrations by Rhonda McClun. Inscribed to one of his publisher's (not Coffee House), appropriately, given the story is about the survival of dandelions against a herbicide and fanatical rose gardener: "For __ and __, Let the lawn look after itself, and all the dandelions will love you?" and signed: "Tom Disch". Not your usual subject matter for a children's book, and clearly intended for adults. Fine copy in a fine dust jacket.
