All points present for first edition. Barcode label on back cover as per publisher's statement "The first several printings of this title were done without a price or a barcode printed on the jacket. We do this occasionally when a book has special gift appeal. In this case we applied a removable barcode sticker to the back. This was not a result of a delay in deciding the retail price.

Synopsis

The Tale of Despereaux, also known as The Tale of Desperaux: Being the Story of a Mouse, a Princess, Some Soup, and a Spool of Thread is a 2003 Newbery Medal winning children's fantasy book written by Kate DiCamillo. It tells the story of a mouse, named Despereaux, on a quest to rescue a beautiful human princess. The book was adapted into an animated film in 2008. The novel is divided into four books and a coda. Each book tells the story from the perspective of a different character.

Reviews

On Oct 7 2014, a reader said:
It was interesting to see how the strings all came together at the end. A tale about a mouse falling in love with a princess is quite a premise, but DiCamillo is so good, I think her book Edward Tulane is even better.
