About This Item
London.: Carey Kingsgate Press, 1949. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good. The boards are rubbed at the extremities and faded with a narrow strip of sunning along both top edges. Upper board sl. cocked. The spine is very sunned with a bit of incipient splitting to the spine's lower edge. The prev owner, John N Jonsson (1925-2011), printed his name to the ffep and affixed his small label to the front pastedown. Tipped in to the ffep is a resume of Jonsson's career. He was a "native South African, who actively protested apartheid, ran for South African Parliament; was only Baptist minister to sign [the] Kairos Document as a plea to churches to demand an end to racial segregation". 96pp. illus. unmarked.
