About This Item

John Lane Company. Very Good- in Very Good dust jacket. 1912. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Hardcover first printing with dustjacket, 438 pages, four color illustrations with the original protective tissue-guards, many black and white plates, Chapter 15 contains a bibliography, high quality green cloth illustrated binding, top edge is gilt, book has a moderate cock to the spine, the heavy stock coated pages do have a scent which some might consider musty, it is not offensive to my nose which registers it as a good old book smell but please be aware if you have a sensitive sniffer, the book is unmarked and there is no foxing or soiling to the pages, the scarce dustjacket has the same color illustration on the front as the book and the original price (5.00) is present on the spine, there is some scuffing to the white rear panel and some edge-wear at top of spine, the jacket is clean and quite presentable overall and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included .
