Previous owner's inscription on f. paste down. A few spots. Frontis plate. Illustrations. Slight damage to edges of a very few pages. 114 full-page colour tartans. 296 pages clean and tight. Containing 114 pages' of Tartans in full colours, belonging to Lowland Families as well as to Highland Clans. A short history of the Clan or Family faces each Tartan, with the Crest or the Chief's Coat of Arms, the Badge and the Slogan. The Introduction, coming as it does from Mr Thomas Innes of Learney. Albany Herald, supplies precisely that authoritative information in regard to clans and tartans which is awaited by all who take a practical interest in the future as well as in the past of the Scottish people. The book indeed forms an indispensable practical handbook on the modern status of Clan Societies. There is no doubt that it will be read with avidity. .
