Cloth to front water damaged, some pages with water marks in margins, prev owners name at top of half-title, joint reglued at front. Pages shaken and standing proud of covers at front and rear. A few small tape repairs to margins. Would benefit from rebind. Details of units raised in Tasmania for service in South Africa in the Second Boer War (1900-1902). Includes :negotiations between the Transvaal and Great Britain, accounts of the experiences of the first Tasmanian contingent, the Bushmen's contingent (Commonwealth Horse), and the 1st & 3rd battalions. Plus details of prisoners, journal extrracts and photographs of soldiers.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. Small 4to.
