[Photograph] [Education] Album from a high school teacher filled with over 100 photos, including high school athletics and WWI-era military exercises. 112 silver gelatin photographs date from 1917-1920, and measure 1.75 x 2.5 in. to 5.5 x 3.5 in. Locations identified San Jacinto, CA and Charleston, S.C. Comes with 50 additional loose photos. 44 pages (first 28 pages are detached). Interesting World War I content includes a photo of a blimp or Zeppelin in flight. 1917 photos of military exercises: "Battery A, some Marines, and Infantry". Middle age parents posing with son in military uniform, in front of a metal fence. Several photos directly related to working in a high school as a coach and teacher. Photo labeled "High School" with dozens of teenage boys and girls lined up outside a brick building. Athlete with varsity sweater and "DHS" printed on basketball. 15 boys and coaches pose for a basketball team portrait with a banner "DHS" at their feet. A track athlete jumping over hurdles. Interesting and sometimes humorous observations or remarks on the photos. A cherry-picking scene: "Jumping for what the robins left". Photos of flowers: "one stalk had eight blossoms". Some humorous captions: "Who are you smiling at?" "Who hit you in the eye with a snowball?" Other photos from teacher's travels, including many scenes of outdoor activity. Lady standing in front of giant lily pads, child playing violin, woman on a bike, men and women fishing and showing off their catches, early Model T cars. A woman in a canoe on a pond or small lake. First 28 pages detached with small chips to edges. Good condition.
