Foreword by Ray Allen Billington. Authored by the grandson of Sully, this is the first and only biography of General Alfred Sully who saw service in California during its gold rush period, Minnesota frontier in the 1850s, of the peninsula campaign of the Civil War, and the Sioux uprising of the 1860s in the Dakotas. Fine, bright copy in price-clipped dust jacket with minor wear to the front flap fold.
