About This Item
London: Victor Gollancz Ltd., 1939. First edition, first printing. Published by Victor Gollancz Ltd., London, 1939. No dustwrapper. This is a very good copy. The boards are generally clean and straight. There is a neat, well-illustrated Ex-Libris sticker to the front pastedown from Sir Oscar Morland, the British diplomat and ambassador to Tokyo. His signature is on the front flyleaf, dated 17 March 1940, Tokyo. The internals are slightly toned and there is an ex-library stamp also to the fly. The text blocks are generally bright and white and are free from foxing. Overall, this is a very good copy of a nice title with nice provenance.
