Published by subscription only. This copy is VG. Exterior is rich with modest rubbing. Gilt is bright on the front and a bit rubbed on the spine. Spine ends and tips moderately worn ; edges only modestly so. Inside front hinge is cracked but holding nicely. Otherwise unmarked, firmly bound with scattered modest foxing throughout. Steel plate frontispiece of the author with tissue guard and 26 other illustrations. Foreword by Harriet Beecher Stowe. Dark green EPs. SCARCE in this 1877 edition .
