Schwaller's text, "a contribution to the study of Pharaonic thought," is supplemented by a massive collection of photographs on 452 plates. First published in French, 1982. This copy is a first printing of the first U.S edition with illustrated slipcase and matching dust jacket. Hardcover in glossy boards, dark blue cloth at the spine, with gilt titling to the spine and the front board plus a decorative cartouche in gilt to the front. Hieroglyphs on endpapers. Printed on alkaline paper. Illustrated in b&w. Includes commentaries on the plates,138 additional figures and an Index. Large heavy book likely to require additional shipping charges. Sumptuous.
