This complete four-volume set of Les Tendances Nouvelles is an unabridged republication, supplemented with a new introductory essay by Jonathan Fineberg and an index prepared by Marianne Malone, of the revue published in Paris between 1904 and 1914. The journal represented Symbolist ideology, involving some of the most prominent figures of the period, and full of abundant information regarding early twentieth-century art. Introductory essay discusses the history of the magazine and its associates; the very special and important relationship between Les Tendances Nouvelles and Kandinsky; and the technical problems of dates, editions, etc. Approximately 2400 pgs. collectively. Illustrated. Text in French and English. Volume I upper spine and corners slightly bumped. Volumes III & IV as new in shrinkwrap. Heavy items.. Reprint. Hard Cover. Fine. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
