All edges trimmed. 56 black and white labeled illustrations. Frontispiece and 6 plates on glossy paper blank on reverse. 49 diagrams in text. Tight and square. Binding lightly soiled, lettering to spine faded, front endpapers with small S.C. Lyons 1917 stamp to each and to a top margin, eight leaves faintly foxed, two small acid shadows, two short tears. Engineer and inventor, Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) developed the Tesla coil, a device for producing high-frequency currents. Sturdy first edition clearly legible with numerous diagrams. Very good+.
