VG+ (sunning and a couple of small stains).Quarterly poetry journal out of Montclair, NJ, and edited by Sandra West, who in the editorial statement to the first issue, remarks that the poets in this issue are building on earlier traditions and are still signifyin, teachin and rappin. Issue One contains poetry on Black life, Black uplift, and Black alienation, while Issue Two contains poetry that explores the political landscape with a number of poems having a pan-African scope; some poems in this issue include Apartheid, Why Malcolm Had to Leave, Frustrations of a NeoRevolutionary, and Political FatCats.
