Number 3 of 300 signed and numbered copies, with an additional personal inscription to Robert Emmett Lucey, Archbishop of San Antonio. Harbert Davenport called it 'a magnificent work. It is a product of twenty years of tireless work and is irreplaceable as a chapter in the overall history of the colonization of Texas"....The settlements were made as a result of colonization contracts made in the 1820s by the Mexican government....Obertse also provides a fine narrative of the role of the Irish in the Texas Revolution and the Texas Republic.
