Chicago and New York: Belford, Clarke & Company, July, 1840. Hardcover. Collectible - Very Good/No Jacket. Eleven volumes in brown cloth covered boards with black text and decoration on the front cover, gilt text and decoration on the spine. Green and tan illustrated endpages. Black and white frontispiece. Illustrations by the author. No date on the publication page. Only date found is on the Advertisement to the First Edition, dated July 1, 1840. All volumes are in excellent condition with no marks and very little wear. Titles include: Paris, Irish and Eastern Sketches; Burlesques Yellowplush Papers; Roundabout Paper, Two Georges; The Newcomes; The History of Pendennis; The Adventures of Philip; Vanity Fair; Barry Lyndon, Great Hoggarty Diamond; Henry Esmond, Catharine, Denis Duval, and Lovel the Widower; Christmas Books, Book of Snobs & Ballads; The Virginians.
