Color frontispiece, six chromolithograph plates, one wood engraving. The 20 pages represent publisher ads at rear. Originally published about 1866, this was a long popular manual. The Bacon manual stresses binary and triadic color harmonies unencumbered by the long disquisition's on aesthetics that mark most French treatises. Bright, very fresh copy. Yellow endpapers.
