(4th) Large, thicker book, brown boards with embossed illustration of tree branch on bottom front, crease across bottom front as well, gilt lettering bright on spine, black cross-out at top of first front end paper, 533 lightly browned pages. DJ glossy white, color-illustration of white dead branch and house on front, with red-brown background on front, brown and red-brown on back. DJ has light ripple at middle front, tiny scratch at middle of front bookfold edge, microtear at bottom front edge, micronick at spine top left edge, 1/2" tear at spine bottom right edge, tiny tear at top back tip. Good DJ/Very Good book.
Synopsis
The Thorn Birds is a 1977 best-selling novel by Colleen McCullough, an Australian author. In 1983 it was adapted as a television mini-series that, during its television run March 27-30, became the United States' second highest rating mini-series of all time behind Roots; both series were produced by television veteran David L. Wolper. The mini-series starred Richard Chamberlain, Rachel Ward, Barbara Stanwyck, Christopher Plummer, Bryan Brown, Mare Winningham, Philip Anglim, and Jean Simmons.
