About This Item

London and New York: Studio Vista and Van Nostrand Reinhold, 1970. Wrappers. Very Good. 21 cm; 95 pages with illustrations and facsimiles. Bound in original decorated wraps. Dust jacket discolored by sunlight along the spine, with a couple of abrasions there; else a very good copy.

The jottings and mad insights of Paul Rand (1914-1996), the American art director and graphic designer, best known for his corporate logo designs, including the logos for IBM, UPS, Enron, Morningstar, Inc., Westinghouse, ABC, and Steve Jobs's NeXT. Rand is the focus of "Everything is Design: the Work of Paul Rand," an exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York running through September 7, 2015. Not to be missed.

About Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio

Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio owes its name and its inspiration to the traditional Italian studio bibliografico. These small antiquarian bookshops, typically run by individuals who combine deep scholarship with a love of the printed object, remind us that underlying the words "study" and "studio" is the Latin term for zeal and devotion, studium. Since 1993, my goal has been to match discerning collectors with extraordinary books and manuscripts.
