About This Item

1. VARSITY DRAG, 1927

This is probably one of the most famous songs to come from a Broadway production. It was from the musical comedy Good News!, which was made into films in 1930 and 1947, and was revived on Broadway in 1974.

It was written by Lew Brown, Buddy De Sylva and Ray Henderson.

It is 4 pages of music plus covers and is in superb condition.

Sitting Pretty is a 1933 American Pre-Code musical comedy film that tells the story of two untalented songwriters, played by Jack Oakie and Jack Haley. They are joined by Ginger Rogers and Thelma Todd on their trip from New York City to Hollywood to find their fortune. This film was directed by Harry Joe Brown and featured the Pickens Sisters.

From Lord Byron of Broadway

Music by Nacio Herb Brown, Lyric Arthur Freed

Sung by Charles Kaley

Reprised by Ethelind Terry

Lord Byron of Broadway is an American Pre-Code musical drama film, directed by Harry Beaumont and William Nigh. It was based on a best-selling book by Nell Martin, which was widely praised by critics as an "extremely true and amusing romance of stage life." It was filmed in black and white with two-color Technicolor sequences. The film's star was Charles Kaley; there was an uncredited appearance by Jack Benny.

3 pages of music, plus covers.

Excellent condition, minor wear at the edges.

Note: I have lots of vintage sheet music listed here, some singly, many in bundles. You're welcome to create your own bundle, or just buy one piece from a grouping.
