New York: Harper and Brothers, 1868. Later printing. Hardcover. Fair. Octavo. vi, 7-497 pages. Brown cloth hardcover with blind stamped designs on the covers. Gilt title on the spine. Lean to the binding. Edge wear to the corners and head and base of the spine. Cloth split on the spine. Some fading, wrinkling and shelf wear to the cloth covers. Hinges are sound but the cords are sometimes visible in the gutters however, the text block not shaken. Toning to the text. Light to moderate scattered foxing to the pages. Rear end sheet is torn with about two thirds missing. Book plate of "S. C. Vedder U.S. Army No. 103 (hand numbered)" on the front paste down. A fair or better copy.
