Slim octavo, original navy cloth, original dust jacket (now brodart protected). First English edition and first authorized translation in English of Freud s essays on infantile sexuality and human psychosexual development. Three Essays is second only to the Interpretation of Dreams in its importance to Freudian theory. First published in German in 1905; the first American edition was published in 1910 under the title Three Contributions to the Sexual Theory. No previous signs of ownership. Book is near-fine, with only most minor wear to the spine of the original dust jacket.
