First edition of this memoir by the noted journalist chronicling his 1967 spine-shattering accident and his struggle to defy the quadriplegia diagnosis -- nicely signed and inscribed signed by him in black ballpoint on an inner flyleaf: "To Gail and Lewis / Dear friends / With affection / Steve Fiffer / 3/13/99.
