About This Item

Abertay Historical Society, 1987. Soft cover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. 86pp stapled booklet in printed card covers (covers a little faded at edges). Internally neat and clean with some marginal toning. Lightly illustrated. Previous owner's name on title page. The wrights, masons and slaters of Dundee formed their separate incorporations during the 17th century and their joint society, the United Trades, in the middle of the 18th century. Men and women were building, roofing etc under the general name of 'wright' long before 1600 but this is the story of their incorporation not a history of their crafts and craftsmanship.
