I turned it over to read the printing and the handwriting und erneath. It was an official invitation to visit Gestapo headquarters "without fail" within 3 days. Such an invitation was no small matter; I'd have to give this considerable thought." This was the reality of Louis Posner's life in 1942. He was a 16 year old German expatriate living by his wits and guile on the streets of Belgium. His father had brought him to Belgium to escape Nazi persecution o f the Jews, but Hitler's expanding grip of terror consumed Belgium, and Louis' father was sent to a work camp, leaving Louis behind.
