This volume chronicles the story of one of the finest preserved steam railroads in North America, from its origins as the Denver & Rio Grande's San Juan Extension in the 1880's silver mining boom, to its present day operations as the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Includes nearly 500 color and black & white photographs by some of the finest photographers such as William Henry Jackson, Richard Kindig, Jim Shaughnessy, Roger Cook, Ernest Robart, and many others. .

The Argonaut Book Shop was founded in 1941 in the middle of the financial district of San Francisco. The Argonaut was a founding member of the Antiquarian Booksellers\' Association of America and has been a member in good standing ever since. The Shop is now located just three blocks from Union Square in downtown San Francisco and is open six days a week. Parking facilities include ample street space and a parking garage close by.
