Philadelphia PA, : J B Lippincott, 1957. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7?" - 9?" tall. Type: Ex-Library First Edition. Hardcover Ex-library Book and Jacket in Good Condition. Minimal evidence of previous library ownership. Burgundy cloth binding is clean and unmarked with lightly rubbed edges and corners, tight and solid. Interior is very clean, no underlining, no markings of any kind. Jacket clean, rubbed, with light wear to extremities. Library mylar jacket cover removed and replaced with a new clear archival protective cover, The story of probably the greatest and most preposterous impersonation of all time. The case cost the British Crown and the Tichborne family hundreds of thousands of pounds and nine years to prove that Arthur Orton from Wagga Wagga, Australia, was NOT the heir to the Tichborne fortune. A most interesting true case. 288 pages. 5.5 x 8.25 inches. J B Lippincott, Philadelphia PA, 1957.
