New York: Mitchell Kennerley. Very Good in Fair dust jacket. 1913. First Edition. Hardcover. Maroon cloth boards; original buff dust jacket with title, reviews and publisher's advertisements in black lettering, protected with mylar cover. Signed and inscribed by Bynner on front endpaper. Boards have light wear to edges; text block has light toning; dust jacket has moderate dampstaining at spine and moderate soiling, two 1" and less chipping on bottom edge. Inscription written to Bynner's cousin, Maude Witter, and includes a few lines of verse. Written early in Bynner's life as poet, this play "focuses, in dramatic form, the abominable realities to which 'civilized' people have so long shut their eyes, publically and pharisaically; but to which, in tens of thousands of cases, they have given vicious personal and private encouragement." ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 48 pp; Signed by Author .
