New York: Scribner's, 1895. Hardcover. Fair. Margetson, W. H. . Corners are bumped, frayed and worn through to cardboard. Edges are worn, spinecaps worn, frayed and creased. Covers are scuffed, back cover shows mottled discoloration. Binding is cracked and partially detached. Exposed sewn signatures hold pages together. Two detached images, but present. Preliminary page edges are chipped. Text is lightly tanned. Gilt lettering debossed to spine, white lettering to front of illustrated, blue-green, cloth-covered boards. Frontispiece and twelve illustrations by W. H. Margetson and a Map. Clean. 390 pp with 16 pp advertisements to rear of book. An historically accurate tale by G. A. Henty (1832 -- 1902) of the wars between the East India Company and Tippoo, known as the Tiger.
