Sacramento: NP, 1905. Paperback. Very Fine. Mimeographed letter, hand-signed by Governor Pardee, to Dr. C. N. Ellinwood, San Francisco Physician. Full text of letter reads: "Dear Doctor: You have my thanks for the kind expression contained in yours of the 10th. After full consideration of the so-called Anti-Vaccination bill, I decided that it was my duty to veto it. ¶ With regard to Senate Bill 706, while I am heartily in accord with the spirit of the movement, I do not see where the money is coming from to support a new State institution at this time. The enclosed copy of a letter I have written to Dr. F. M. Potenger will explain this, I think. Very Truly Yours, Geo. C. Pardee [signature], Governer." Pardee was governor during the 1906 Earthquake. Said insitution is probably an early medical school in San Francisco, perhaps.
