About This Item
THIS IS A RARE BOOK
" Tom… is the story of a real home and a very real Tom. Reading it awakens the question of whether it is the more enchanting to be a boy, or a boy's mother; and it is hard to believe people who assert that there are drawbacks to both situations. The book is bright, hearty and stirring, full of teaching which does not involve a particle of 'preachment;' and it cannot fail to be interesting to every boy. "
" Tom. A Home Story "
By George Leonard Chaney ( He was a Unitarian minister )
Publishers: Roberts Brothers
Copyright: 1877 ( By George L. Chaney )
Hard Back. Red Cloth. The Book is worn, but is in good shape for a 140 year old book. The Bindings are tight with No Rips or Tears. The Spine is complete, but worn. The Front & Back covers are OK, but have some stains. There is some shelf wear. The pages are clear with a little brown tint around the edges, but do have some small stains. The endpapers and pastedowns do not look original. The hinge probably wore out sometime over the past century and was repaired.
