About This Item
Boulder: Pruett Press. Fair in Fair dust jacket. 1969. Hardcover. Blue buckram lettered along the spine. Leaning, and old dampstaining to the tops of the pages. The previous owner (Sonia Martin) has noted on the front endpaper that she received the book as a gift from Tom Ferril, a journalist for the Rocky Mountain Herald and later the poet laureate of Colorado. Laid in is a two page handwritten letter from Harriet Fish Backus to Ferril regarding his article about her book. Backus inadvertently addressed the letter, "Dear Mr. Herald." On the back of the second page, Sonia Martin has written in pencil, "Letter from author to Tom Ferril, who apparently had written a favorable review and who gave me the book some years later. Sonia Martin, 1/27/90." The dust jacket is worn and stained, with chipping to the edges. Publisher's price of $6.50 on the front flap. A woman's personal account of life in mining camps of the West.; 273 pages .
