About This Item
Distillery Historic District, 2008. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 9 1/4" x 9 1/2. pp: 173. Bound in pictorial blue dust jacket, with blue cloth covered boards, and pictorial end papers. The book is a written and pictorial history of this part of Toronto, but the star is the former Gooderham & Worts distillery, the company that gave the area its name. The text is compliments with vintage and modern photographs, drawings, maps, and other illustrations. The book ends with illustrations and adverts for some of G & W's products. This copy has a tipped-in page identifying the book as a first edition. The opaque page is signed by the author. I note, however, that the number line on the copyright page begins with '2'. So it may be a signed second printing of the first edition. A near fine, or better, copy in dust jacket.
