Thick 12mo. 155 x 100 mm., [6 1/4 x 4 inches]. civ, 723 pp. Illustrated with 8 large folding maps in the text and 95 city maps and a map of country bound at the end of the volume. Original blue cloth in very good condition, dust jacket, with chips a the corners and head and tail of spine, back wrapper scrapped. This copy with the signature of "Kenneth Love/Florence/April 1959" on the front free endpaper. With faults a good to very good copy.

Includes historical and practical information for the contemporary traveler, including information on rail travel, banking, the economic condition of Italy post-War, and a geographical guide to the country. Each city and town is described, highlighting the cultural points of interest as well as information on hotels, restaurants and transportation.
