About This Item
New York: Henry Holt and Company,, 1988. First edition, first printing, accompanied by a loosely inserted autograph letter signed by the author, the daughter of Jack Kerouac, and containing a particularly poignant remark: "Dear Dan,... I'm glad you were entertained by my books. Hope you'll like the one I'm working on now - Parrot Fever". That title, published posthumously in 2000, was left unfinished at her death. The letter is written on one side of a single sheet dated 17 May 1988. Trainsong is the second of her three semi-autobiographical novels. Octavo. Original green cloth-backed white paper-covered boards, spine lettered in pink, publisher's device blindstamped on rear cover. With dust jacket. A fine copy in near-fine dust jacket, spine panel lightly sunned, else bright and sharp.
