Paris: Libraire Plon, no-date [circa 1905]. Fourth edition. Illustrated with 44 photographs by the author and one folding map of Africa. 12mo pale blue paperwraps printed in black and red. Montyon Prize ["Prix Montyon"] label affixed at bottom of front cover. The Montyon Prize, which Foa won in 1897 and 1901, is awarded by the French Academy each year for a "book which during the year rendered the greatest service to humanity" (wikipedia). Few light stains to covers which are worn at edges otherwise good to very good. Interior pages near fine.
