Red cloth, gilt letters on spine & front cover,black & color illus. dust jacket, 259 pp., many BW illus., many color and some BW plates tipped in, 2 fold-outs, weighs 6.5 lbs. Presents hundreds of "treasures" that date from ancient Egypt. The text was originally planned by John R. Harris, then taken up by Jean Yoyotte when Harris could not continue with the work. The introduction is supplied by Christiane Desroches Noblecourt. Includes many tipped-in plates, most in full and vibrant color. Great for browsing, if you are a fan of ancient times.
