First Edition/Eighth Printing stated as "Eighth Edition." Book Condition is very good with a stiff tight spine, rigid yellow boards and no pushes to tips but with a tear out flap about two centimeters at to of spine. Previous owner's signature and location plus what appears to be the purchase or gift date of "December 25, 1943." Dust jack condition: It is mostly intact except for a 5" by 4" oval tear out at spine base and front cover. Smaller tear outs at cover front top corner and edge. Other edge wear along most edges. The price of $2.75 intact on the front flap and "How the Tree Grew" on the inside of the dust jacket. Also has inside front flap the code "No. 5338" at the bottom of the flap. The rear panel features a photo of Betty Smith with "Buy War Bonds!" caption beneath her photo. A nice copy of the first edition, eight printing in an original dust jacket looking great in an shiny archival mylar cover..
