Octavo (22cm); beige and blue cloth-covered boards, with titles stamped in blue on spine; dark blue topstain; dustjacket; [vi],499,[5]pp. Spine ends gently nudged, else very Near Fine. Dustjacket is price-clipped, lightly edgeworn, gently sunned at spine, rear panel, and flap folds, with a few tiny nicks, tears, and attendant creases; Very Good+. Fourth novel by the Australian Nobel Prize-winner, centered around a young man at the turn of the 20th century, who gets married and carves out a life in the Australian bush. The publisher cites similarities to Paton's Cry, the Beloved Country and Rolvaag's Giants in the Earth.
