London: Robert Hale, 1963. First Edition, Fourth Printing. Hardcover in teal buckram. Very Good/Very Good. Very good condition in like original dust jacket. Small chips to the head and tail of dust jacket spine and light edge wear. Includes a decorative menu from the hotel laid in, with date of 27 September '63 and the name George Jarman written in ink on the front. Jarman is pictured with the Queen Mother and the author in a photo facing page 128. Treetops Hotel is located in Aberdare Park, Kenya. The author and his wife built the house in the tree, which became famous when Queen Elizabeth II (then Princess Elizabeth) and her husband were staying there when they learned of her father's death, making her the Queen. The hotel is noted for being patronized by many of the rich and famous, some of whom are pictured in this book. With 12 photographic illustrations including one showing Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mother and Colonel Jarman, whose signature is on the laid in menu.
