About This Item
Paris: Flammarion, 1939. First edition. Square 8vo, [24] pp, saddle-stapled wraps. Illustrated. Text in French. Issued in the "Albums du Père CAstor" series.
The scarce first edition of this charming children's book published at the dawn of the war, and illustrated by Franciszka Themerson under the pseudonym of Françoise Themerson. See The Themersons, Vol. 2, p. 180.
Wraps and pages rather heavily toned, with creasing to the wraps and an old, partially removed small price sticker inside back cover. A good to very good example. The work was reprinted several times after the war but is very scarce in the first edition.
