Introduction leaf, chromolithographed title and 29 chromolithographed plates, 26 in color. Seder a follower of the Jugendstil movement was the first director of the Ecole Superieure des Arts Decoratifs, founded in 1890. Art Nouveau artist Anton Seder's rare portfolios containing otherworldly compositions of dragons, lizards, fish, lobsters, birds and other exotic, fanciful and beguiling beasties. Seder also was art professor and Director of the Kunstgewerbeschule in Strasbourg. Text in German. New endpapers, a few plate margins renewed or repaired as is the title page with plate images bright and bright clean as issued. Front cover slightly toned.
