About This Item

The Macmillan Co, 1937. Hardcover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" A good copy in good dust jacket; text has pencil marking; many page corners folded; some browning to text edges; jacket chipped and rubbed at edges with some old tape. PROVENANCE: From the library and with the signature of Jan Stussy (1922-1990), noted artist and Academy Award-winning filmmaker. 'Stussy, a West Coast artist with works in many museums and private collections... was a former chairman of the art department at UCLA and the first artist to be appointed as a senior professor by the university. Although he was primarily known as a prolific painter, with some 5,000 works to his credit, Mr. Stussy frequently worked in other artistic arenas. ''Gravity Is My Enemy,'' a film he produced and directed, won an Academy Award in 1977 as best documentary' (New York Times).
