London: Bernard Lintott, 1716.. FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, LARGE PAPER COPY. pp.iv+80+[10, index]. Bound by Riviere and Son in full red crushed morocco, sides with a triple gilt fillet border, spine with raised bands, richly gilt decorated compartments, elaborately gilt decorated inner dentelles, all edges gilt. With the headpiece vignette view of a London Street on page one. Ex libris Winston Henry Hagen and Christopher Clark geest with their bookplates. A fine copy of Gay's mock heroic poem. Walter Besant is said to have drawn heavily on this work.
