London. London: Daniel O'Connor. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1922. 1st Edition Thus. Hardcover. Beige covers with elaborate gilt decoration and titles to spine and front cover. Both are somewhat soiled, especially the spine, with some bubbling to the cloth. The gilt has rubbed off in places, again, especially on the spine. Untrimmed edges with top page ends bright gilt. Foxing to endpapers where something had been laid in, owner name and address unobtrusively written on front pastedown. Otherwise, contents are in excellent condition. Binding is tight, pages are clean and unmarked. Tissue-protected frontispiece portrait of Gay. . A long poem about London life in the 18th century. Gay was an English poet, contemporary of Alexander Pope and Jonathan Swift. Trivia was originally published in 1716. This 1922 edition adds Introduction, Notes, and Index. Illustrated by 16 b/w engravings. . 4to 11" - 13" tall. 91 pages. L0 .
