"The conventional words of the King's commission had a real meaning when applied to William Harness. This selection of letters made by his great-great-great niece shows that he was an efficient and trustworthy officer and was loved both by his family and by those who served with him. The letters give an absorbing account of Army life and campaigns in Europe, Egypt, South Africa, and India from 1793 to Harness's death in India in 1804." -- dustwrapper blurb Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
