About This Item

Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1979. 1st Edition. Hardcover. F/F. First Edition, First Impression. 13.5 x 20.4 cm blue boards with gilt stamped titles to the spine, 286(2)pp, with original unclipped dust jacket designed by Tudor Humphries with Carnegie Medal sticker on front panel and priced at 4.50. Signed, inscribed and dated on the title page by the author. A fine, clean, bright book. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a removable clear jacket (not shown in our images), is also in excellent condition, noting only a hint of toning on the top edge of the jacket flaps and a hint of rubbing to the laminate on the top joint. A really lovely signed 1st edition copy of this highly regarded and multiple award winning book. Winner of the 1979 Carnegie Medal for outstanding children's book, Whitbread Children's and Guardian Children's Fiction Awards. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
