Image measures 15 7/8" x 18 3/8"<br/> <br/> Thorough map of Turkey, extending from the Black Sea to the Persian Gulf. Regions are beautifully hand colored, with outline detail delineating the broader regions labeled as Asia Minor, Syria, Mesopotamia, and Armenia. Towns, cities, rivers, and topographical features are labeled. In good condition, with wide margins as issued. Minor toning to margins not affecting the image.<br> <br> The Colton family was one the most prolific and successful publishers of maps and atlases in the United States. J.H. Colton (1800-1893) founded his business in NYC in 1831.<br/> <br/>
