Limited edition of only 250 copies, this being #249. Bound at Ludlow Bookbinders (the home of Lyra's Books) in full goatskin leather; blocked in gilt, copper and silver with a design by the artist to both boards and spine. All edges gilt. A sumptuous Ludlow binding for one of the classics of 19th century Gothic horror fiction. Photographs do not do it justice. Newly introduced by novelist and essayist Colm Tóibín, and beautifully illustrated by Audrey Benjaminsen, this superb Folio Society limited edition of Henry James's 'The Turn of the Screw' is signed by both contributors. Gilded edges. Set in Columbus. 168 pages. Frontispiece and 5 full-colour illustrations. Integrated black & white decorations, chapter headings and tailpieces. Double endpapers, one set with signed and hand-numbered limitation label tip, one set printed. Signed by the artist and the introducer. Printed cloth slipcase. 8¾'' x 5½''.
