About This Item
London, W. Swan Sonnenschein & Co. 1884. Hardback, approx 7 x 4.5 inches. Black cloth with gilt lettering and banding to spine. In very good condition. Slight squashed lean to spine. Corners a little rubbed and nicked, a couple of small nicks to ends of spine. Darkening to free endpapers, neat inscription to front. Later reinforcements and stitching between endpapers. Some darkening and handling marks to pages, some occasional minor foxing spots, and a couple of minor stains/soiling (notably stain to p145/6.) Else a very good tight copy. 211, 253 & 233pp. Each with a preliminary chapter headpiece decoration.
